John Lang Born in 1816 in Sydney, John George Lang is generally regarded as Australia's first native-born novelist. He was also a lawyer, journalist and born traveler. Lang is credited with having written several novels, the best known being Botany Bay, Too Clever by Half and Too much Alike. In 1859, the magazine published Lang's travelogue called Wanderings in India
