Satish Chandra Satish Chandra retired as Professor of History, Jawaharlal Nehru University, in 1987. Since then he was active in the Society for Indian Ocean Studies for which he is the Vice Chairman. He is the Chairman of the twelve volumes comprising History of India Scheme prepared by the Indian History Congress. He was an Associate Director Research, Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, Paris in 1982, 1986, Member of the Governing Council United Nations University, Tokyo.He is also the author of Medieval India
